Correct Sealant To Use On Your Rubber Roof | Pete’s RV Quick Tips,Reporting from higher ground, Lifestyle Consultant Randy Murray shows viewers an easy way to identify the type of material used on a modern camper’s rubber roof. This knowledge is extremely useful when preparing to spot seal around roof vents, skylights, air conditioners, and antennas. If the wrong sealant is used, it will not adhere properly, or provide lasting protection.

Up until more recently, there was one widely-used rubber roof. Now there are two, and both require different sealants. The traditional rubber roof membrane is smooth and accepts a sealant designed for EPDM rubber. The newer rubber membrane is textured to reduce marking and accepts a sealant compound designed for ALPHA roofs.

If upon further inspection, you are still unsure what type of rubber roof is on your camper, consult your owner’s manual or RV dealer.

Both types of sealants are for sale at the Pete’s RV Online Parts Store here: : If not currently on sale, enter the following code during checkout to receive an exclusive YouTuber 15% discount on your entire online order*: prvtv15
